S group, a Finnish network of companies operating in the retail and service sectors, came to us in the beginning of 2019 with a bold idea. They wanted to change the perception of their hypermarket Prisma, as a place with very basic and cheaper clothing, to a place with truly great style and contemporary fashion. The idea: A clothing line in collaboration with beloved national super star Antti Tuisku.
This of course came with some major challenges. Although Antti as a pop culture icon is loved by many, he’s also very controversial as an artist. How would we create a brand with edge that would still appeal to all of Prisma’s customers, one of the broadest target audiences you can think of in Finland. With an investment of this scale, it was crucial that the line would be successful from the beginning. And how would we do all of this, without being judged as just another merchandising campaign with a star.
Enter Antti Tapani — a pseudonym using Antti’s middle name, that he had used earlier for purposes other than his music career. This was the perfect opportunity to create a new, but strongly related and familiar brand that could stand fully on its own legs. BOND’s first assignment was to define the purpose and narrative of Antti Tapani. A purpose strongly tied to the artists own past, as someone relentlessly challenging the status quo, but also resonating with Prisma’s way of moving and democratising the world of fashion.

Sponda is the leading real estate asset management company in Finland, and part of the Blackstone Group, the world&#8217;s largest private equity firm. After a decade since the last brand reform, it was time to update it to match their current strategy and values.
Joint brand strategy work, based on Sponda’s renewed business strategy, provided clear guidelines for the new identity work: the cornerstones were found to be high quality, excellent service level, sustainability and the goal of market leadership. The main aim for the reform was to raise the image of Sponda’s premium quality, and also to highlight tenants. These two KPI’s turned into brand purpose — Space to Shine — first-class facilities where the tenant’s business has all the prerequisites to flourish.

The Type Directors Club

S Group is a Finnish network of companies operating in the retail and service sectors. It has more than 1,600 outlets, over 2.4 million co-op membership program members and almost 4 million bonus cards distributed in Finland. New co-op owner volumes were growing but they weren’t as committed to the loyalty program as before. S Group had not been successful in communicating the benefits a loyalty program member gets from using the group’s services.
We were set to add simplicity and coherence to S Group’s co-op membership program’s brand identity. As local and group-level brands needed a clear common factor, we ended up using the S logo throughout the identity with a new fresh design. We also introduced a new recognisable and ownable typographic style to the core of the identity.

North Star Film Alliance (NSFA) is a joint venture between Estonia, Latvia and Finland with the aim to develop and promote themselves as one filmmaking region, servicing global film and TV productions.
To succeed in a very competitive marketplace, this unique setup required not only an identity that stands out right from the launch, but also a thorough and inspiring guidelines document for applying the identity. Only this way the seven project partners’ activities and materials would support each other, building one coherent entity.

Aalto University Junior, an entity of Aalto University, encourages children and the youth to dive into science, arts, technology, and economics by organizing free time events.
The brief was to design a brand identity, which would be recognizably part of the Aalto University, but would still stand out from within the main brand as a playful bright spot. It had to appeal to the youngest members of the family, yet also speak to the adults. The design won gold for Best Branding at the European Design Awards 2019.

The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (HPO) is one of the world&#8217;s leading symphony orchestras. It plays a significant role in the capital city of Finland as its cultural business card. The activity of the orchestra is based on high quality, weekly performed concerts.
HPO is competing for the free time of the townspeople. All leisure time activities are accountable, like other cultural services, sports, shopping and time spent at home. They wanted to reposition the brand in order to strengthen the brand image and overall experience.

At the beginning of 2013 three of Finland&#8217;s most prestigious art academies, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Sibelius Academy and the Theatre Academy, merged into one university called The University of the Arts Helsinki.
BOND&#8217;s challenge was to create a unified brand identity and architecture that also leaves room for the individual academies to build their own profiles. The solution is an identity that works across the different arts and avoids the typical cliches and conventions.

Confectionary maker Cloetta wanted to make their liquorice Allsorts stand out from the competition and highlight their new recipe. They were facing increasing competition from a growing number of mixed confectionary, in-store pick &amp; mix, as well as from more and more aggressive private label brands. Cloetta was also looking to strengthen its position in travel retail. The challenge for Allsorts was to find its way out of the mainstream bulk position.

Eero Aarnio is the designer and innovator behind some of the most recognisable and beloved Finnish furniture pieces of the 20th century. Eero Aarnio is also one of the most copied designers in the world, and his most iconic design &#8220;the Ball Chair&#8221; is also his most copied work.
Eero Aarnio Originals is the manufacturer of and the brand behind Aarnio&#8217;s original designs. The brief was to create a logo for the new company, with the objective of the logo acting both as the symbol for the global brand and as a certificate of authenticity. Therefore, the logo had to be easily recognisable, but difficult to copy.

Anton &amp; Anton is a small grocery store, online shop and home delivery service. We were asked to create a playful and positive visual identity and packaging concept for their new retail concept.
The brief was to design a visual identity and concept for the Kiosk&#8217;s own packaged quality products. The aim was to transfer the company&#8217;s distinctive laid-back ease and the playfulness to the Kiosk.

Roster is a Bar &amp; Restaurant and a vibrant meeting place in the heart of Helsinki, and now also in Turku. The brief was to design a complete restaurant experience, including concept, naming, interior design, service design, digital design and branding.
Roster wanted to be a restaurant that stands the test of time and still looks good 10 or even 20 years later. A place that is exciting and provokes discussion. Something that could also be implemented easily in another 2-3 cities.

Balticbest is a boutique design festival and an awards show. They wanted to expand beyond the Baltic states by opening the competition to all small countries with a population of less than 5 million.
As the festival is celebrating &#8220;big ideas from small countries&#8221;, the best way to help the festival generate global awareness was to illustrate the very essence of the festival itself. A big idea can make a small festival big, too.
Due to this change of concept we created a new identity that speaks both to design and advertising communities, globally. Something, that universally celebrates small countries and big ideas.

BOND did a multi-year brand development project for the Design Museum Helsinki. The goal behind the rebranding project was to improve the visitor experience on all levels. The first step was to strengthen the museum&#8217;s identity and create a brand that stands the test of time.
The gradually designed project covered everything from exhibition design and museum premises to marketing and web design. We created an integrated holistic experience by combining spatial, physical and digital design together to extend the museum visit beyond the physical building.

Paulig, the leading coffee brand in the Nordics, wanted to create a flagship café in the heart of Helsinki. They needed to reposition the brand by appealing more to the younger consumers &#8211; A concept that would bring the brand closer to new customer groups in a credible way, actively be a part of Helsinki&#8217;s culture, and enable changing content.
What we did was not just a flagship cafe but a full customer experience based around coffee. The all-around space hosts a café, a coffee roastery and a barista institute.

HSE 24, a global multi-channel shopping network based in Germany saw the opportunity to open a TV retail brand for the GCC market with a focus on Saudi Arabia. BOND was tasked with developing a new brand for this omni-channel shopping experience.
Research carried out in the years before launch identified a potentially large under-served market here. So our aim was clear &#8211; to build the premium omnichannel retail brand specifically for Saudi women.

Action Stadium is a five star experience park with gamified activities. The first of the many Action Stadiums, opens in UK. BOND did the holistic experience design including spatial and visual design for the concept.
The park combines digital and physical experiences, with a mission to keep the human race active and happy. This mission worked as the guideline for the spatial design as well. The interior design was aimed to active visitors and this applies also to both font and colour choices. Environmental friendliness was a big factor in the choice of materials. In addition to various different interactive playing fields, the area consists of two different styled restaurants where the grown-ups can relax while the young ones play around the park.
